Kayla

Veterinary Technician

Kayla is a veterinary technician at the Viera location with a strong background in animal care, rescue, and client support. She previously worked as a veterinary assistant and receptionist for four years at Shark River Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and has extensive rescue experience through organizations such as the SPCA, Catsbury, GAIN, and Catsbury Park, where she volunteered for four years and worked for three. Kayla’s long-term goal is to one day run a sanctuary for hospice and handicapped animals, serving as the in-house technician and advocate for animals in need.

Kayla shares her life with a lively group of pets, including three cats—Asher, Tristan, and Declan—and a dog named Juni. She finds the most rewarding part of her career to be learning, growing as part of a team, and developing hands-on skills such as blood draws, blood sampling, and preparing microscope slides. Outside of work, Kayla enjoys building Legos, playing video games, stargazing, camping, and spending time with loved ones.

One of Kayla’s greatest life accomplishments was living on the island of Guam, graduating from Pacific Islands University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business, and becoming deeply involved in animal rescue. During that time, she fostered more than 30 kittens, four cats, and two puppies. Kayla absolutely loves seeing animals adopted from rescues and shelters, along with enjoying pizza and quality time with her family.
