Pre-Surgical Assessment and Anesthesia

Pet surgery can be a scary thing in and of itself, so complications from anesthesia do not need to worry you even more! We take every precaution, as laid out by AAHA, to minimize every risk associated with anesthesia. Firstly, we perform a thorough physical exam as well as do bloodwork to check that your pet’s health has not taken any untoward turns since their last physical. Secondly, we tailor the anesthesia protocol to your pet's individual needs.

Monitoring Every Detail

On top of all our pre-surgical work, we do even more during surgery. Your pet will be fitted with an IV catheter to give them a steady flow of fluids throughout the procedure that helps keep them hydrated and their blood pressure in check. Additionally, we monitor every vital sign for the smallest change to make sure everything is going as it should. We watch your pet’s blood pressure, heart rate, heart rhythm, body temperature, and respiratory rate. Nothing goes unnoticed!
