International Travel Certificate For Pets

As a USDA and federally accredited veterinary practice, we specialize in issuing Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVIs) and all necessary documentation to ensure your pet can travel safely and legally to any destination worldwide. At Island Animal Hospital, we provide health certificates to ensure your pet meets all travel requirements, whether you're traveling domestically or internationally. We’re here to support you and make your pet’s travel as smooth as possible!

Pet travel can be complex, especially internationally. Our experienced team assists with planning and organizing required documentation for export, guiding government endorsement steps, and connecting you with resources for both departure and return travel.

Timing & Availability

Because export travel is complex it requires advance notice. Even when timelines are met, assistance, government approval, and clearance are not guaranteed, and there is a risk your pet may not be cleared to travel or return by the intended dates.

Important Disclaimer

While we are responsible for providing the necessary medical documentation for your pet, we are not a travel agency. Meeting all travel requirements is a collaborative effort between you, as the pet owner, and our veterinary team. It is your responsibility to verify and ensure compliance with the specific regulations of your destination country.

International and Domestic Health Certificates at Island Animal Hospital

At Island Animal Hospital, we assist in preparing the necessary health certificates for your pet’s travel. Our team is committed to accurately completing all medical documentation, but it's essential that you schedule the required appointments promptly and ensure all travel regulations are met to guarantee a seamless and safe journey for your pet.

Each country has different requirements for the importation of pets. They may also require certain vaccines and even a microchip, so it's important to fully understand what you'll need for travel, especially for international travel. You can find a full list of requirements for the importation of pets into a foreign country at APHIS' website.
