McKaylyn
Veterinary Technician
McKaylyn is a Veterinary Technician with a strong passion for animal care, behavior, and wildlife conservation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a focus on Animal Behavior and Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Her journey in animal care began as a kennel technician and expanded into roles at doggy daycares, eventually leading her to pursue hands-on experience in animal behavior research with the Brevard Zoo and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. These experiences inspired her to take the next step into veterinary medicine.
McKaylyn shares her life with Kyro, her 6-year-old Miniature Bull Terrier. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting and runs her own bracelet business, The Friendly Knotilus. She has been recognized as an “everyday changemaker” by Reinvented Magazine for her contributions as a woman in STEM.
Looking ahead, McKaylyn aspires to become a marine veterinarian and advocate for animal welfare, wildlife medicine, and conservation. As she prepares to apply to veterinary school, she remains dedicated to learning and growing within the field, making the most of every opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills.
